Feeling guilty about the CO2 emissions created by your budget airline getaways? Well, now you can give yourself a break. We've put together a weekend that's good for you and the environment. It's right on your doorstep in Wales - the Celtic land of castles, myths and legends, pure mountain air and sheep-speckled scenery.
Friday
The weekend begins with arrival at Abergavenny on Friday evening, when you will be met at the station and taken straight to your accommodation in Hay-on-Wye - the beautiful book town, home to the Guardian Literary Festival. You can then spend some time exploring before dinner. Hay-on-Wye boasts some great eating places and we can give you advice on the best.

Saturday
Saturday means a bike ride through the Brecon Beacons! With routes tailored to suit everyone this can be as gentle or challenging as you like. We have comfortable hybrid bikes for road riding, and top-quality mountain bikes if you fancy something a bit muddier! We will also supply you with a picnic lunch to enjoy en route. Once you reach Brecon there'll be time to look around this pretty Georgian market town with its historic sites and galleries, before you and your bikes are picked up and taken back to Hay.

Sunday
Following breakfast on Sunday morning, take to the hills for a half day walk (again there's routes for all abilities), rewarded perhaps by a hearty Sunday lunch or a little shopping in Hay-on-Wye's boutiques and bookshops. Then it is time for your transfer back to the station for the journey home and a chance to read the Sunday papers on the way.
