Crickhowell Walking Festival 2010

Crickhowell Walking Festival 2010This year’s festival promises to be even bigger and better than in 2009, with more Walks and events. The walks cover the full range – from tough all day treks across the mountains and moors to easy low level strolls. There are many new walks in the programme as well as an expanded Events Programme, which is designed to be complementary to the Walks Programme.

Drover Holidays is supporting the Festival by leading two of the walks, and we've also teamed up with Glasbury House Outdoor Education Centre to offer Paddle and Pedal the Wye Valley - an introduction to canoeing and cycling in the beautiful Wye Valley. The day starts an orientation session, a morning of canoeing down the Wye followed by an afternoon cycle ride back to the start point. Paddle down the Wye to the booktown of Hay on Wye. After lunch in Hay pick up your bike at Drover Holidays for a guided cycle ride back to Glasbury along quiet back roads. The price is an amazing £15 per person for the day. For more information, please see contact us or see the Festival website

If you are looking for accommodation for the Crickhowell Walking Festival, there are special rates on offer at The Bridge Cafe in Brecon which is less than half an hour from Crickhowell by car or bus. For booking between Sunday 28th February and Thursday 4th March, anyone attending the Walking Festival can get £5 off per room per night. There's plenty of space for hanging your walking gear and a wood-burning stove for drying out your boots should the weather turn wet! Packed lunches for walkers are also available for £4. See the Bridge Cafe, Brecon for details of the rooms. To check availability, please contact Drover Holidays.
