ROAD

map of hay on wye

If you are travelling from London, take the M4 as far as Junction 24 (Newport). Next take the A449 and the A40 to Crickhowell, passing through Abergavenny on your way. After Crickhowell, turn right onto the A479 to Talgarth, and then take the A4079 which is signposted to Hay on Wye. Turn right onto the A438, and remain on that road (which becomes the B4350) until you reach Hay. The total distance is 150 miles (240 km)

From Birmingham, take the A456 as far as Tenbury Wells, then the A4112. Stay on this road, which becomes the A44 as it passes through Leominster, and then reverts to the A4112. Shortly after passing through Kinnersley, follow the signposts for the A438. Take this road as far as Clyro, turning left onto the B4351 for the final couple of miles to Hay-on-Wye.
