Getting away from it all needn't involve jetting off to the other side of the world. For a short-haul holiday with a difference, head to Wales for an end-to-end MTB adventure on the Sarn Helen. Roughly following the Sarn Helen Roman road, the route begins on north coast of Wales at Conwy Castle and winds southwards through Snowdonia, mid Wales and the Brecon Beacons to finish on the Gower Peninsula on the south coast. It's an epic ride, following bridleways, tracks and lanes through some staggeringly beautiful countryside. There are lung-clenching climbs aplenty and, this being a natural trail, a few sections which even the fittest and strongest mountainbikers will find a challenge! Dropping down from the mountains, you'll find sleepy villages and historic towns en-route with pubs and tea shops aplenty.
